Simple solution is to lose any of the sensors/ connectors on your new engine that wont plug into your loom. Use the sensors and connections off your existing engine as they match the loom you have now.
Hi everyone,
quick question, I have a non vvti 1JZ out of a JZA70 in my Soarer. I think I wanna source another complete engine to build up off the car to swap into her eventually. Esentially just a fully rebuilt tight JZ, mine is ok but showing some signs of age.
My question is can I get a non VVTI engine from pretty much anything and know with my existing loom that it will go back in? or is there any variances between the various non vvti 1JZ engines that went into other things?
prolly a stupid question, I think they are the same, bar manual or auto differences.
but just wanted to ask.
Cheers.
Andy

Sept your VVTi will not work and you will need an ECU as well
I am not after a VVTI, i have a non VVTI but thanks again, I have established they are the same bar plugs etc which is fine.
Sorry i read it wrong. i thought you where asking if a VVTi will work in place of your non vvti.
There is only 2 plugs different on non vvti 1JZ temp sensor and something else. Also remember to get a engine with the correct sump.
yep cheers,
worst case scenario can swap over my original sump. but thanks for all the answers guys.
