Ok. I'm almost ready to go!

Today I cleaned the car from its nine months of hibernation, and had a set of 2nd hand Kumho V700s mounted on my WORK 16" wheels. I bought eight used tyres to use on track days and Jax Tyres in Merrylands mounted four of the best ones on my rims for only $20.

Tomorrow I am refitting my Monster Tach and replacing the Speco Oil Temp guage (as its broken its teflon feed line) with an OMORI unit from The Land of the Rising Sun.

I'm over these SPECO gauges. I've had to bin at least three new gauges due to the poor quality feed lines (2 water temps and this oil temp) that break at the smallest provocation. The OMORI gauge is nuch sturdier and has a coiled metal outer casing.

I'll also be replacing the V02 oil filter (remotelty mounted in the driver's side guard) and doing an oil change.

New Ferodo brake pads are already in.

I'm looking forward to hitting the track with some of you turbo guys!

PS. I've had some requests for passenger rides so I'll have to fit my spare (standard) seat and harness for the day. If anyone else is interested let me know.

I believe passengers have to pay a standard WP fee. Is that correct?

    Cheers,

    Peter

Yeah Peter, the track marshalls tend to keep an eye on wristbands for driver's and passengers, i'd say its an insurance requirement more than anything (although you'd think the annual wakefield or cams licence should really cover it)

Looking forward to watching a properly setup track car scream away through the corners!

    Cheers
    Phil

Ensure that your fluids (engine, diff & gearbox oils, coolant, brake fluid) are all at the correct level and not millions of km old, cause they will get a flogging under constant loading at the track. Bleeding your brakes is not a bad idea also, cause the heat soak of repeated braking will definately find any air in the system & cause fade.

Ah yes, but had Phil had the calibration of the factory boganometer checked recently? Those commodore units are notoriously inaccurate
