    Default Ignition barrel problem

I have taken my ignition barrel out of my RA23 celica but now I have a problem My problem is that I accidentally turned the key to the Lock postion and now cant turn it back to Acc to reinstal it back into the steering column. I have tried pushing/lifting the lever etc but still cant get the key to turn, somebody help me.

how do you normally get your key out of the barrel? do you need to push in before you turn? in ta22s you push a button and turn to get the key out. The cylinder where the key shaft slides into should come out.

I would say there would be some sort of button you press as w810sc has mentioned,

Hit it with a hammer, this works for me when i get s**t stuck

The lever you are pushing and lifting is for the steering lock on the steering column. Some how Evo 7's have a similar design.
Have you tried pushing the lever down and turning the key?

I have tried everything I can think of, normaly I have to press the button on the shroud to turn from ACC to Lock BUT the key is already in the lock postion so I thought it should just turn to the ACC position but it doesn't... If all else fails of to a locksmith to get it (fixed)

Don't pay a lock smith $50 when you could probably get one from the wreckers for $5 with a key that works on all your doors and boot

I ended up taking the barrel & key to the locksmith and got it fixed! The problem was that the barrel was worn and keys were worn! So they replaced the tumblers in the barrel and cut me some new keys... Like NEW. Thanks for all the replies.

$35, I thought about getting another barrel but the same thing could of happen in the near future so I thought it would be easier and more cost effective to get it all done.
