Default ST162 - "GTR" vs "SX" any differences?

    Hi guys,

I sold my ST162 not long ago and cant go without one so I am looking at getting a new one.
I'm looking at some fairly soon, one of which is an imported "GTR". I was just wondering if anyone here knew any differences between the ADM SX and the GTR mode,. Power, engine, interior, exterior, etc.
Also if anyone knows extra things to look out for on the GTR for when i go look at it.

    Thanks in Advance,

    John.

P.S - I have seen Alliance_22's and unfortunately it is out of my budget

i know the st182gtr and the st204gtr were 3sge powered and 4 wheel steer.... so i assume at least those for the st162 models? (even though they are already 3s powered?)

Why not get an ST165 GT4?? Or is there a significant cost increase, or are Turbos preventing you (P plate)

Significant cost increase plus the fact they're not the most common car to come across!

If it's a jap spec st162, I assume it will have the jap spec 3s-ge which puts out a little more power than the aus spec, it will also have a jap spec ECU.. other than that I don't know what will be different

Cant be harder than finding an RA28GT Ed, and Simon managed to do that

That aside, point taken on cost/availability

I'm with blakeg - Luxury features. Think of all the blank plastic panels in an aussie delivered one where buttons, switches, warning lights etc might have gone, and a GTR probably has most of them, maybe climate control too. Australian delivered cars were not very well equipped, and by now have high mileage and have been thrashed day in day out by the Caps Backward Brigade of the early to mid 90s (RIP to many a good SX Corolla, TX3 Laser, Pulsar SSS etc). The GTR has probably had a much easier life, on better roads, better petrol and only being thrashed on a weekend (that's 72% less thrashing than ours get!).
Well worth any extra you'd pay over the SX.

    GTR does not equal 4WS!!!!
GTR in Japan = 3S-GE (Higest Grade of FWD Celica)
    4WS is a optional extra.

The only difference u'll find in a 162 is prob extra luxary features.. TEMS suspension, lumber seats maybe a few more kws out of the 3s

As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are

why look overseas when there's one here.... gives a bit of a better description of the car itself, even though it is a sale item. it does appear to be a rarity.

also reading through a thread on toyotacelicas.com, doesn't seem to have much more else to go on it. there's still a bit of debate on the 4WS though.
