    Default Toyota Car Club events for Feb to August 2006

    event list will be updated when new events added to club calender.

    Sunday February 19, 9:30am
    Bay BBQ Cruise
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    Leasurely drive the bayside regions before winding up at
    Victoria Point for a BBQ lunch.
    The club will put on salads and bread, plus bring along the drinks trolley so all you need to bring is yourself, some BBQ meat and and something comfortable to sit on.

    Sunday March 5, 6:00am
    Cooloolah Car Club Motorkhana
    meet at Carseldine Caltex, Gympie Rd, Carseldine
    Drivers have a 6:00am departure to get to Gympie in time for
    the start of competition at around 8:30am.
    Competitors have to contact the Cooloola Car Club <www.c3zone.org> if they intend to compete!
    The Cooloola Car Club has catering on for the day with
    cheap drinks and great burgers.
    Important: bring your hat, chair and some shade so you can relax and watch without getting seriously sunburnt.

    Friday March 17, 7:00pm
    10 Pin Bowling Night
    meet at venue to be advised.
    A fun (and much laughter) filled night out playing 10 pin bowls.
    Teams of two compete for the for non-car-related competition
    for the year. Cheating and team selection (or sabotage) is
    encouraged and might even be rewarded
    Bookings are essential for the evening so please confirm your attendance with a club Social Secretary.

    Sunday March 26, 9:30am
    President’s Nav Run
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    The first driving competition event for the year and a daylight version of the Nav runs slated for May, June and July.
    Driver and Navigator are given route instructions to follow and cluesto find en-route.
    Competitors are timed and can loose points for missing clues.
    The timing is based on completing the route at legal road speeds
    so a fast car isn’t essential for winning.
    The route is chosen by the Club President so it invariably covers
    a fair amount of Brisbane and no doubt includes some scenic locations and views
    The event runs for a few hours and will end up at a lunch spot.
    There is a small entry fee to cover setting up the route.

    Monthly Club Meeting
    Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    Regular club meeting, details for up-and-coming events, talk car stuff, buy-swap-sell, organise convoys to Dubbo, reports on events and good chats with fellow car nerds who talk Toyota in their sleep.


    Friday–Sunday, April 14–16
    Toyota Nationals
    various locations, Dubbo NSW.

    Nav Run #1
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    Start of Nav Run series! Driver and Navigator are given route instructions to follow and clues to find en-route.

    Macleans Bridge Car Show
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    A brisk drive down souh of Brisbane towards Beaudesert stopping at Macleans Bridge Histroic Car show (run by the TSOA Qld).
    The committee hope to have a display of early and late model Toyota’s at the event. Stay tuned for more information.

    Winery tour - Brisbane Valley
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    A lesurely tour thru Woodford, Kilkoy and Somerset areas nearby Brisbane. More details to come after a recce of the route.

    All Toyota Day &
    Show-n-Shine competition
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    Drive to Toyota Qld at Acacia Ridge.
    The club plans to have judging for our own Show-n-Shine competition while the Rising Sun collectors club will have their usual prizes for all event entrants.

    Saturday–Sunday June 16–17
    Coates Rally Queensland
    meet at various locations, Beaudesert Rd, Sunshine Coast.
    Round two of the Queensland Rally Champtionship and also the Queensland leg of the Australian Rally Champtionship. Some club member are volunteer officials for the event, while a few volunteer as crew for local rally teams.
    Volunteers should contact the Brisbane Sporting Car Club for more information or discuss with club rally enthusiasts (of whom Amanda is Toyota supporter #1) as to the best way to volunteer while getting a great view of the driving.
    Based on the 2005 season there will be at least 3 Toyota-based QRC entrants plus the ARC Toyota factory teams.
    There are entry fees to access spectator points however organisers usually run shuittle buses between vantage spots.

    Sunday July 16, 8:30am
    Toombul Motorkhana/Khanacross
    at CentroToombul, Sandgate Rd, Nundah.
    Although not an official club event, the plan is to spectate at this event (run by the Brisbane Sporting Car Club).
    All the cars and driver will be highly competitive and motorkhana enthuasiasts will be able to see some serious driving righ up close.
    More information to come when event details are released.

    Sunday August 13, 8:30pm
    Cruise to Northern NSW
    meet at Motorama 4x4xMore, Beaudesert Rd, Salisbury.
    A full-days driving and sight-seeing.
    The plan is to head to Kyogle down the Mt Lindsay Highway, possibly going via the Old Lyons Road. Lunch would be a BBQ picnic and rest before heading home. The return trip would be via the gold Coast.
    The route is still under discussion and is subject to change.
