Default Classic Celica Cruise in Canberra - 21 July 2007

OK for years we have been asked to arrange a Classic Celica Cruise here in Canberra, so due to the persistence of the CCG Classics we are asking who wishes to participate in a cruise in the not too distant future??? This will be our first Celica ONLY cruise as we have always invited all Yota makes and models to attend, but we are happy to oblige the Classics.

This time, its for 22/23/28 Celica owner to show thier interest and comitment for a Classis Celica only cruise. So please post here if interested and we will try to get one set up for all you who have hassled us! So far we have a yes from:
Mitch TA22 yellow + Chuck Wagon!
    Sam TA22 purple
    Seb TA22 black/red pearl
    Simon (Slimmy) TA22 green
    Jeremy TA22 Red
iBZ (DQIKST) TA23 yellow - Sydney (maybe?)
    Matt W (Curly) RA23 white
    Jamie RA23 red
    Colin RA23 silver + RA28 silver
Matt B RA23 yellow (if regoed in time!)
    Casey RA23 red
    Chris RA28 green
    Zane RA28 Blue
    Jeremy TA22 Maroon
    Matt L TA22 Green
Simon (Lambolica) RA28 GT (Sydney) Maybe / and maybe with River and his GT!

UPDATE - Starting at 2pm Sat arvo 21 July 2007 (the day prior to the CCG Dynoday!) We are meeting at the National Museum car park. Then cruise to a few locations for some pics. By then we will have a plan of attack with a list of locations to hand out etc.

If we havnt been able to catch up with some of the classic Celica guys so PLS call them to get them along to this inaugural event!
    Cheers

Depending on the timing I'm might even get a Celica registered just for this cruise.
(don't expect it to be flash or nothing).

So are we excluding RA40 owners?

    Cheers

The Lads just want to make this one a Classic run so only the 22/23/28s guys. Hopefully a good photo op too if we can get decent numbers. The last time we looked into this we had over 20 but could not work out an acceptable date so deferred till now.

We ave a heap of Classics in the CCG but they all take time to get sorted for a cruise so at this rate we are looking at mid July to allow enough time for people to get their rides ready/regoed etc. Happy for suggestions on location or cruise destinations too guys.
    cheers

    hey everyone,

I brought this up again with Mitch, because there are a lot of mixed emotions going around the club (CCG) with members. I dont mean any disrespect to other members, its just oldschoolers have never really had a chance to show their full potential... a lot of the time because of people being disgruntled about it not even being the "celica group" any more.

One plan is to have a big cruise the night before our next Dynoday which is on Sunday July 22nd. Meet at a servo or big carpark somewhere, depending on numbers, then cruise around the city, hopefully get lots of looks, but not too much attention from the good old white and blue. Then meet back at a pub or club of some sort somewhere near the city, maybe Braddon, for a catch up and a few beers to chat about our machines, or typically what they might be one day... haha.

I reckon it would be so good to get out there in numbers and just have fun driving these things which is what its all about. There's nothing better than cruising around with other 22s/3s/8s and admiring each others cars. Then we can hit the Dyno on Sunday to punch out some numbers, or look stupid but hey its all fun. Not sure on specific plans yet, whether we'll have a barby somewhere or what, as we need some sort of idea for numbers. I know of about 5 or 6 that are coming for sure so far, but i know we can do better than that. Feel free to post or email me at [email protected], or get in contact with Mitch Sloan or Phil Eacott and we'll see if we can get this thing going. Sydney guys are more than welcome, as its not too often you get to come down for an event. Anyways hope to hear from a lot of you, its gonna be awesome!

    Cheers,
    -Curly.

Thanks for the input Curly. Always appreciated mate. Great to have you onboard Case.
Cmon Jeremy, how about a 7 day permit for your your NON RA40 Celica eh???

Opps sorry I thought you had a RA. Tell the lads that if they cant make Steve's cruise then they might want to come to ours. Id love to be able to make it but it just tooo far for us to travel to the Castle for a return trip on Sunday night. May need to look at a united cruise after TOYFEST and pull all the Classics together???
    Cheers
