Boy, a single turbo certainly opens up some space doesn't it.
Nice job Big wad, are you going to get it dynoed? How's it drive now?

i dunno how the old girl would go jacked up on a dyno. i,d probably bust another box .now that it is running sweet my guess would be [if a std one has 208 kw] about 200 rwk maybe??? what do you blokes reckon. stock with tube exh manifold, gt 30/71r, 3" exhaust, 600x350x75 intercooler and a pod. cheers bigwad

just a quick update, i fitted a mech oil pressure gauge and it was probably the worst idea i ever had ,the line melted and squirted oil all over the place. when i lifted the bonnet she went up in flames. burnt the loom etc, lucky i was parked in the driveway and put it out quickly. next purchase will be a turbo beanie and some thermo wrap for the dump pipe. she still has a small miss in the top end , i was thinking the puter caps ???. so if i whip it out on the weekend i,ll be onto you blokes to find out how to test and replace them if necessary. cheers for now bigwad

Small miss in the top end could be either the caps in the ECU or maybe a small crack in one of your coils above the spark plugs.

Someone correct me if Im wrong.

A simple fix for the coils is heat shrink. I still need to heat shrink mine but they aren't missing or anything yet.

can anyone tell me what determines what heat range spark plugs to run, myijz runs bkr 7,s and she has fried 2 of them in under 2000km. should i be running 6,s or even 5,s. i dunno so i,ll let the experts tell me. ps on the weekend we took the kids camping up to cape naturaliste, and even all loaded up we had some fun with a bmw x5 ,he flogged me through the twisties but the hills and straights were all ours. tassie 1,,,,,,,,rich gay nsw tourist nil. cheers bigwad

google "how to read spark plugs" by drag stuff.

pull em out. check the mark on the ground strap. this tells you if heat range is right.

    Heyy mate,
I currently have a 93 lux and im just starting to look into this conversion, i have been looking into converting to a VP commodore or just fixing up my motor. I know i will be able to pick up a motor for round the 2g mark but i was wondering on just stuff like i will need to fabricate up new engine mounts, what happens with the gearbox? would it be better to go and use the 1JZ gearbox and fabricate up new mounts or just make a conversion plate and use the standard box. How much will i be looking at for engineer reports?? anyone know anyone in adelaide with something similar that i would be able to go have a stickybeak at?? The other thing is that i will be converting it to gas so i wont need to worry as much with all the injection stuff.
    Thanx,
    Rex_hvn
