Ive tried to measure as accurately as i could, with verniers, but its too hard, 114mm is the best i can get, but its probably supposed to be 115mm.

As long as you get the backing plates, these are a sinch to put on any live axle.

Im hoping to fit them to my EL falcon diff that goin in my cortina.
Ill prob try and use the falcon cast backing plate as im running their internal hand brake setup and discs also.

I just need an idea on the spacing to see if i can make them fit to the ford backing plates.

    Cheers for that!

    No worries mate.

if you decided to use Skyline rotors:
Unless the handbrake shoes suit the skyline rotors, you will need to weld a skyline shoe on. Easy to check, measure the inner diameter of the EA rotor, and the skyline rotor.
I can measure the inner of the skyline for you, but its a R33 GTS-T, might be different to other skylines (i know the calipers are interchangeable).

What are the specs of the EA rotor?

If you have easy acess to the calipers can you give me a rough idea of the caliper off-set ??

IE: the centre of the mounting face to the centre of the caliper ??

Its a "rough" drawing looking at the caliper from on top. I need to know the red spacing.

    I measured 114mm as well.

Ok, hopefully you can make sense of this pic.
Its not possible for me to get an accurate measurement of the center of the caliper, but you can work it out from this figure. Although, it relies on the pads being evenly worn.

The center of the caliper is between the grey pads, which is 8mm from the side of either pad.
The mounting points are 17mm thick and its 37mm from the far side of that point to the pad as shown.
Something you can derive is that the closer side of the mounting point to the far pad is 20mm, as its 37mm-17mm. Then you should be able to work out the center from any distance. I actually cant do it atm, cause i had a 12hr day at uni and im brain dead.

Sorry for runing the thread size

30psi 4agte, the distance labelled in your pic is about 20mm
I just went back and lined it up with my eye and vernier (very dodgy), but thats approx for you. Otherwise, have fun deciphering my huge pic.

Mate if i could rep you again ....I would !
Awsome info. I wouldnt worry about thread size. I wont be the only one that needs this sort of info. Im sure other people could use it for other conversions

Dont know how long it took you to knock up them pics but their top shit too!

Now the only thing i need to know is ......To bolt on the caliper.
Is the caliper threaded to attach it to the backing plate ?? Or do the bolts go in through the caliper and thread into the backing plate To bolt them on.???

I know the 4 piston skyline front brakes have the thread in the caliper to bolt them on with.

Great pics and measurements there. Just be careful that those calipers are the same as the ones you intend to use. Most Nissan rear uprights and struts have the same bolt spacing for their calipers, but the calipers have different radial and lateral dimensions to suit rotors of different diameter and offset. Some models are the same as each other, but others can be different.

This does mean for instance that you can easily upgrade your Silvia simply by bolting up Skyline calipers and rotors or your upgrade your low spec Skyline by fitting GTR calipers and rotors

If you check out the rear rotor dimensions in the DBA online catalog for several Nissan Skylines and Silvia, you'll soon see which ones match.

BTW, the bolt spacing on the calipers I think is 114.3 which is 4.5 inch. I know you'd think Nissan was metric, but sometimes the measurements on this type of bolt up part are to old US or British conventions.

    Front yes, rear no.
All the sumitomo rear calipers I have seen have been for 297x18mm discs. (Z32, R32, R33 (non gtr's).

The only other rear caliper I've seen is the GTR Brembo, which is 300x22.

Yep, calipers are threaded and bolt goes through backing plates first.

As CrUZida said, all skyline rears are the same, R32 to R34 (ie for the last 18yrs), but the thickness should be 18mm (min is 16) only other car they came on is turbo 300Z.
Brembo thickness should be 22mm (Min is 20), has the same center hole as normal.

I thought id dig this up again. I ended up getting billet wilwood rear calipers ( got 4 piston wilwood fronts too )

i wouldnt mind knowing the skyline pad dimention and piston size to compare them to what i have now.

    Cheers guys !

I know the surface area of the piston is 25% less than the an MA61 rear caliper.
