    Default 7MGTE -> 2JZGTE : MA70 - Can you use a 1jz harness?

    Hi all,

    Been considering doing this conversion, and been doing my research.

    I've seen on Supramania.com that some people say you can use a 1j harness to plug into the 2j engine, which makes the wiring a lot easier.

    Unfortunately I can't find detailed information about this on any forums.

    Anyone know more about this, or can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Sam

    PS I have spent countless hours reading through all the debates/discussions/arguments about wether its worth it go 2J or stick with the trusty 1J, so please leave all that out of this thread.

    Don't know for sure myself, but have you done a search on 1.5JZ?

    I'm pretty sure I've heard of those changing the 1J block to the 2J version using the 1J head (hence the 1.5J) because apparently it flows better, but keeping the 1J wiring by removing the 2J sensors from the block & installing the 1J versions there instead.

    I'm curious to know why it'd be easier to use the 1J wiring?

    Well according to the thread I found on supramania,

    the 1J harness pretty much plugs into the 2j, and because of its compatibility with the a70 supras it a better option in terms of getting gauges etc to work.

    2nd, you can run a 2jz with a 1jz harness. It plugs in the same way a 1jz would.
    Theres some more info here as well, but again nothing in detail just hear say.
