1984 auto supra to manual

Hi people, I've been looking at a 84 supra auto 2.8 (5M i think)
and was wondering if anyone has a ball park figure on what a manual
conversion will cost, W58's I have seen priced from 500-800.
If i decide to scrap the ra40 that'll pay for it. (most of it..)

cost... hmm, if you can find an ra6x or sa63 celica, quite a many of the manual parts in those should be compatible... mainly the front half of the tailshaft, the clutch pedal/master cylinder, etc.

beyond that, spigot bearing and flywheel/clutch has to be sourced elsewhere.

find a rusty manual ra60 for chips and you are laughing

Search, search (prbly more luck on the old forums).

W58's can be found cheaper btw, 300-500 is a more normal (private) price.

As said a lot of the parts (clutch pedal, clutch line (SA63 or RA65? (one of the RA6X's is right and one is wrong I think...?)), gearbox crossmember, front driveshaft? (are RA60 the same as RA65 and MA61? I do not know first hand), gearbox can come from an RA6X donor

I won't hold your hand much more than that.

thanks for the pointers,

i have a pretty good idea, next trip to a wreckers (self serve one)
will keep me busy for a few hours. which supra i buy will depend on what the fine tooth comb
reveals.
