    Default Black Gold. Texas Tea.

I just found the part where the 2 rear sparkplugs on the 3TGTE goes is full of oil. There's obvious signs of a fair amount of oil blowing out of the rocker cover seal at the back. It's covered the firewall a fair bit. I've never taken the rocker cover off before. Just wondering if it'd just be a rooted gasket or something more sinister. Would a buggered rocker cover gasket allow oil to get into the well where the sparkplugs are? It's only the back 2 plugs that are affected.
Where would I go to get a new gasket for a 3TGTE?

    Cheers, Greg.

VERY common problem I found with my 3T. Even new gaskets if not aligned and installed just right would leak like yours is.

Look up Stewart Wilkins Motorsport he carrys gaskets.

A new one will fix the problem, just make sure when you install it that it doesn't slide around and move and stop sealing.

The original Toyota ones I found better as they had little tags to hold it in place better.

    Cheers

    Thanks Joel.

Anyone know somewhere closer to the south west for the gasket? Otherwise it's a trip to Windsor for me.

Just get Stewart to send it to you. Make sure that the surfaces are clean, any oil that is on the surfaces will promote a future leak.
Johnny always uses Permatex No3 on his and it seems to work well for him. Like Joel has said though "makes sure that it is aligned".
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.
