    I recommend supercharging your 3RZ.

    There will be power gains.

Your questions may be a little vague.

I think you're approaching this in a backwards fashion. You should be asking a question like this:

"I want to increase the power output of my 3RZ to xxx HP, what's the best way to acheive this?"

You start with the problem, not with the solution! A supercharger may be the best way to go or it may not. So, tell us about your goals, your budget, your mechanical abilities, etc and you may get some meaningful answers.

    Nar mate not at all.....

What im trying to do is get an undertanding of what gains i will get out of it. I know nothing about super charges and not that much about the 3rz either. But i have read some gr8 stuff. I wanna know how it will perform and what i will notice. U know what experiences evryone else has had et etc etc.

Im not after any magical figure but i do get tired of a stock cars power. I currently drive an RS turbo so going into the hilux will be a big difference.

Some meaningful ansers may be.... If you bolt on a (A654 example) supercharger on to a 3rz you will get this this and this happening.

I dont have much of amechanical aptitude so I will be gettting others to do the work..

    Is that enough????

I'm pretty sure capa do a bolt on kit. If not a mob called alpine developments definitely do a kit that got sold in america through trd outlets.

theres several threads on this forum about forced induction and the 3rz engine, theres atleast 2 turbo ones on here me being one richard being the other. ill find the thread where someone asked the same question im not typing for 6 years . edit: couldnt find it

ill make it simple, sell the rs liberty to your grandma cause a boosted lux will destroy it

the 3rz is capable of over 300rwhp without throwing a rod out the block after 2 weeks, and without opening the engine for anything including headwork or headgasket upgrades or lowering the compression in anyway....

you could expect to make 200 - 350+rwhp if you TURBO it with an aftermarket ecu, exhaust , fmic , gt35r etc turbo , fuel system upgrades ( im running 12psi through a to4 now and the injectors are pushing on 90% on full boost with a lifted fuel pressure., and the obvious turbo manifold, lines and a new clutch and possibly a new gearbox if you go pushing it to higher power levels and flog the shit out of it all the time (my box is doing fine so far but has only been on the road properly for 2 or 3 weeks now. richards utes thread is a good info gatherer for you to see whats involved mine has pics to have a look at probly has a half arse price list in there too.

if you run the supercharger the stock ecu seems to go ok at keeping it together and not running it stupidly rich or stupidly lean with a rising rate fpr, run a turbo and the ecu WILL NOT run it properly, stalls at lights and carries on like a school girl. so a sc14 or similar you can save the price of an ecu and tuning and wiring if you can do it your self.

but after that long winded story, i think a turbo is better rather then just thinking about the blower, the blower has been done by a mate of mine with a sc14 and the power output is very average compared to my turbocharged one with similar boosts between the 2, but at the end of the day it depends what your after, how much power you want to make and how much money you want/can spend. if you want just a bit more torque and power run with a sc14 blower , a como blower would probly be ok and would make more power...

if you decide to go ahead with forced induction this info will help

heres a walkthrough of mods, wiring, maps etc but this is only for turboing it

ive got haltech maps for the 3rz if you ever decide to put some boost in and a haltech. other than this forum and the few scattered 3rz threads on this site there is virtually no info on the web worldwide.

gtt30r turbo or to4 is a bare minimum for the engine i had a r33 turbo on to begin with and the 3rz is constantly ringing its neck.

ecotechilux, what do you need info for? theres enough out there to show you they can make over 350rwhp unopened, and lc engineering in the states can get you every single forged or aftermarket part for them to rebuild.... theres wiring diagrams , ecu maps , etc etc

    harden the fuck up
