    Default T3/T4 Manifold

    Hi guys,

I'm in a transitional period with my supra and I ordered a T3 flange single turbo manifold (3rd world knockup), anyway the order came and they were all T4 manifolds.

To cut a frustrating story short, I've been offered a T3/T4 manifold instead. Apparently it can seat both T3 and T4 flange turbos. I'm assuming its a T4 flange manifold with T3 drill holes.

Anyone had much experience with these? Do T3 manifolds flow less than T4? Does drilling holes in the flange weaken it?

Anyway, next week these other manifolds will be in. Maybe I should just go for a T04z..

Generally manifolds that are listed for T3/T4 are just a T3 flange. They are listed as T3/T4 because that was the hot ticket for turbo's before aftermarket performance turbos were really available. It's a T3 exhaust side with a T4 compressor side.

You can get T4 flanged turbos which are not T4's which could be useful to you. Garrett have some 30 and 35 series exhaust housings with a T4 flange. Or of course you could run a GT40.

I didn't know that there where 30 and 35 series with T4 flanges. I'll look into it.

I would like to run something huge like a gt40 but I think it will be far too big for my 2.5L even when I get my hands on a factory stroked block.

maybe I will get that T4 flange manifold

or you could just get a T3 flange plate and have it welded onto your existing manifold...get the welder to throw some extra bracing too while youre at it
