well..... i just recentlly (saturday) purchased myself a nice little car from 1986 called an MR2 maybe someone here has heard of such a thing...

so i was going though the goodies i have to see if any would be usefull to me and came across a smallport ecu. i was pretty sure it was a bad idea to begin with (check the tone of my original post) but did not know for sure.

i am kinda in shite with the wife since i already have a project car and really should not have bought the second one.(especially without telling her) so i had to break down and promise to thin out some of the parts i have.

i will be posting in the member rides at somepoint in time this week. as a quick skinny on it the body has definately seen better days. interior is near mint though, main seller for me was the engine work. over 10k in parts. everything was machined, port/polished, balanced and blueprinted by a shop that does nothing but produce race engines. final engine assembly was done by not one but FOUR Toyota master mechanics.

NA bigport that "seat of pants feeling" says to me about 140hp.

looking to see what else i can do for some extra ooomph.. but that and most of what i just said is better left for another thread.

if the engine is all that great and not 'quite' stock, you would benifit from running aftermarket engine management, microleb or something....

well done on buying a car of all cars . i look forward to actualy seeing/hearing if you find out what has actualy been done to the engine. and why 4 people would be required to build it..

shinybluesteel has a smallport that was running a bigport computer, so he could probably tell you what is and isn't compatible between them (my guess is dizzy and thats it - but keep an eye on how the fuel pump is switched).
