Which Cam are you talking about intake or exhaust or both ? , Advancing the intake cam is a gain the lower rpm Band
Hey guys i done my timing belt last week and realised that my timing belt on my 4agze has been advanced one tooth and its been tuned to run like that ?? anyone find that weird ? The reason i found out is when i turned the crank to take belt off i mite of slip a tooth doing so, so when i went to put the belt back on i put it on with normal postion. The car idled perfect but would not make power , so i advanced it again to 1 tooth out and it run like perfect again.
WTF
I heard that running timing belt 1 tooth advanced gives better top end is this true or should put it back to normal postion and ge a RE-tune.
To the experts am i losing power with this or gaining ?

Is it the 4agze with a dizzy or the one that runs coil packs?
If it's the dizzy version maybe whoever put the belt on last stuffed it up and their 'fix' was to fix the timing with the dizzy?
I am the sun
Its a ae92 dli 4agze
Cameron i am gonna have to ask my mate about that as i am not to sure if it was intake or both cams.. But say if it was both cams 1 tooth advanced ,why would it of been tuned to run like that ??
Old 2TG, and 18RG tuners, would often advance the the exhaust cam by a few degrees.
cheers Chuck.

Both are advancedOriginally Posted by Cameron_Datto
Usually advancing the intake cam gives you more bottom end and less top end, retarding it does the opposite. The opposite is true on the exhaust side.
