    Default 20v in a Sierra

Hey guys. My Sierra has a 4AGE 20v in it which I killed last weekend

Rather than getting it fixed, I'm going to drop a second hand engine in there but I'm unsure if all 4AGE 20v Silvertop engines are the same or if there are RWD/FWD versions and if this is going to make a difference.

Can anyone who knows much about this conversion please enlighten me?

ummmm dude search its not freakin hard! and while you are waiting for the search, read the FAQ

ALL 4age 20v's came in fwd format, what you are going to have to do is swap any bits from your old motor to ur new one ie if its got a 4ac water pump and other modified water bits they are gonna have to go with it, same with all ur intake goodies ie trumpets airbox and afm n shit

but yeah use the search button in future

Perfect time for a GZE conversion! Rock-hopping torque But yeah, just grab a decent 20v and transfer all the stuff off yours which is different to the motor you've bought. In your case, I'd buy a long motor, no manifolds, no wiring...should be cheap enough

    Thanks for the help guys.

I found a bare motor (as they called it) for $450 which I'll grab. Here's to hoping it's in half ok condition.

As for a picture, here's one that was taken by the previous owner. It's not very good but better than nothing. I can't take one myself cause the car's as the mechanics.

Note the pod filter. Bad bad bad idea if you ever decide to even go near water in your 4wd. It will kill your 20v

that price isnt too bad. Looking at it it looks like it has an external rear wheel drive cooling system conversion. Look at the link in my signiture for another way of doing it.

I am guessing theres a corolla external thermostat under the intake manifold.

The air box has been converted to come out the middle of the unit instead of the end which is unique. I am interested to see if they managed to keep the trumpets in there and not downsize the box.

it looks like they put the radiator relatively low down and hence put a cap i the top pipe, very unique for a 20V conversion.

When you have more pictures could you post them for us?
