    Default Boosting the 7MGTE

Christmas is almost here and that means a couple of pressys I should be getting a boost controller and a guage. I was wondering what would be a good system to run, a relatively cheap one (2-300 for the controller)...anyone got some suggestions of brands etc.??? I will be running 13Lb at the most, but probably 10 or 11.

You could chuck a few washers behind the wastegate actuator mounting plate to raise the boost too. Alot cheaper.

Get an Independant Electronic Boost Controller kit from Jaycar and either build it yourself or get a mate too. They are under $100 un-assembled. But you also need the hand controller which may be another $60

The Greddy Profec B Spec II is probably the best value EBC, but is probably still just over your budget. Take a look at the Gizzmo IBC as well, I think you may be able to get one in that price range, and from all reviews I've heard it's not half bad either.

But try the ghetto style washer thing first, and if it works for you, spend the $300 on something else

maybe a headgasket might be a better christmas idea.
these motors tend to do the headgasket once the boost is increased on a stock motor.
just a heads up of sorts...

    or a dodgy gauge...?

could just make a simple bleeder. Get a bit of hose with a plastic pipe in the middle and start drilling tiny tiny holes.
