    Default Crower cams for 2JZGTE

Would these cams be OK for a 2JZGTE with a GT35 1.06? Would they work OK with a SAFC? They are regrinds and require new shims, but no lash caps. Would I need new valve springs etc? Are the shims expensive?

Shims are $10 -12 from Toyota I think - could be well wrong here.
Fit the cams, see what shims you have that can be used and then get either new shims or have the thick ones ground down to suit. Saves you a bit of cash.
    Chatted to Rz about it?

I asked a PF so RZ should chime in I hope. Is that $10-12 each or for a set? Becuase that could get real expensive quick! All mine would be too small wouldn't they?

Just a grind or are they a set fo billet cams?
If they have ground down your cams then, yep, the base circle will be reduced so yup too thin.
Interesting they don't mention a spring pressure yet say excessive spring pressure will void warranty.... I suppose springs will depend on what sort of boost you plan to run - might need to run a higher seated pressure if you're looking to run big wads of boost.

Edit: just rang Toyota to see if some other stuff I ordered had come in. Asked about shims - $13.30 + tax - less for trade.

They are reground US cams. But the base circle has not been touched too much which is why the lift is pretty small, and why I can probably get a way with stock valvegear. I am only running about 10-20 PSI.

When you say 13.30 is that for a full set of shims?

yup - thats $ per shim

reducing base circle for a grind is a bad idea none the less
