    Default electronic boost controllers

its almost time to wind the boost up on my 4agte, so im considering my options re. boost controllers. i would like an electronic unit rather than a bleed valve or gated system, buti dont need a massive amount of features. just a high/low setting and the ability to hold the wastegate totaly shut untill i see the set boost level. ive been looking around and have found a few old school hks, ect. units. and also this little thing.

    or more info here

has anyone had any experience with these units? the price seems reasonable.

I cant speak for that particular unit either, and although you have stated you want something without a lot of features, i would recommend an AVCR. They are fairly expensive, but i am more than happy with mine.

You can have your 2 levels, for high/low boost, display up to 4 different readings (boost, speed, rpm, throttle, injector duty cycle and a few others), you can set it to self learn or you can set the desired level of boost.

It is reasonably easy to wire up, i'm no electronics expert, i still don't know exactly how to wire up a stereo, but i found wiring the AVCR relatively simple.

A Gizzmo would be the go if it works for you. In my case it didn't have enough adjustability to control my turbo setup, but it'd be perfect if it did.

There are two Gizmos ( Gizmo 1 & Gizmo 2 ) the 1 will control up to 30 lbs boost and the 2 will control to 50 lbs boost .

I couldn't adjust the sensitivity enough to stop my boost spiking, something specific to my setup, as the same controller worked fine on a 1JZ. It would yo-yo around the set point. I can replicate it with my eBoost2 if I jack the sensitivity up, but of course, now I have control over it.

The Gizzmo comes with of those MAC solenoids (ala eBoost2 and Autronic), and an inbuilt MAP sensor. Can't go wrong for most people.

I have a Gizzmo 1 set up on the 3T.
4 different boost setting ranging from 12-18.6psi and on every setting holds that boost level with some minor fluctuations of 0.3-0.4psi worst cast.
And their relatively cheap compared with some others out there.
    Cheers,
