Default ECU pinouts Gen 3 1GGZE (Definitive?)

I rec'd the attached XL spreadsheet from Adam (Bullfrog) which contained the ECU pinouts for the Gen 3 1GGZE, almost complete with colour-coding of the wires and plugs.

Looking at my loom, which was intact for the ECU plugs labelled "R" and "S", I was able to confirm most of the colour-coding with a few corrections. Ditto for the plugs labelled "Y", "W" and "X".

Looking at my ECU plug labelled "O" it had been cut about 50mm up the wire so I was able to fill in the wire colours for this plug.

All the corrections and my additions are in bold red on the spreadsheet.

    Plug "Y" - changes to pins 12 and 13

Plug "X" - changes to pins 2 and 7. 12 was BLANK on my plug.

Plug "W" - changes to pin 4, and pin 3 is not BLANK (pale grn/ylw stripe)

ECU Plug "O" - all wire colours added

ECU Plug "S" and "R" not checked (but I will do so ASAP).

If anyone would like to comment and/or confirm these pinouts I would welcome that as I am about to look at the wire-up in the next day or so. I've converted the file to PDF for download from my website (56Kb).

    Hi All,

Well after some mucking around some and little bit of time in the shed with the multimeter i think i have sorted out a wiring diagram modified from a previous post for the 1ggte gen3 engine.
I have done an edited version for the 1ggze gen 3 as i couldn't find one anywhere so here it is i know there are some lecko's and people who have done a conversion with the engine and may know the wiring backwards on the threads so if you could take a couple minutes to check it out and edit or let me know if there are any problems with it .

Thanks all and hope it helps With your conversion's

Also here is an updated version for the ecu pinouts i have pretty much just changed the plugs and added the auto plug aswell.

Dude, this is fantastic except as they are above even when printed in HiRes are not all that readable.

Can you post the last graphic in its original XL format?

The other 4 wiring schematics will need to be much larger in filesize for them to print out and use. Or save them in a higher resolution format like TIFF or BITMAP.

Can you email them to me?

    Cheers,

    Peter

Here are the Hi(gher) Resolution images of Bullfrog's wiring for the Gen 3 1G-GZE. I've used Adobe Photoshop to clean up some of the lines and the labels, but the credit should go to Bullfrog (Adam):

You can download them from my website:

Not being electrically minded, can someone explain what the symbols in this wiring diagram are?

I popped the cover of my old 1G ECU to check the pinouts. The codes are printed beside each pin on the PCB. No guess-work if you do it that way.

Yeah, I had a look and confirmed all the pins in Bullfrog's ECU schematics. Great stuff.

Here's a couple of questions I'd like answered if possible.

I want to connect a Boost gauge. Can I connect it at this point on the engine?

Where do these two wires go? It comes up from underneath the AC unit (two black wires) to a grey plug receptacle. Into this is a blue plug with a Dark Green/White & Dark Green/Yellow wires. Where do I connect the two Dark Green wires? I noticed the same connector on my friend's engine so they must connect to the original 22R loom on the driver's side. His plug was Black/White & Red/White.

I got a fuel pump resistor from a Cressida. It has three wires and a "6" stamped on it. I've mounted it and there is a plug on the 1GGZE loom that is the same but a different colour. Is this where it connects or is that too easy? Is it the same as the one Bullfrog showed me with two wires and a "4" on it? I noticed at Pick 'n' Payless there were three variants with another Toyota having 4 wires.

    Cheers,
    Peter

    infotechplus,

I can answer one of your questions about the boost gauge one at the moment would have to look into the other ones i think you will find that the hose you are looking at goes to your charcaol canester its on the wrong side of the s/c as there should be no boost that side. As for where to go for a boost gauge no idea i know when i turn the s/c over by hand there is pressure in the pipe that runs infront of the head, got know idea what it is for yet. not sure if the standard car had a boost gauge so it may plug and play so to speak.

No, the charcoal canister tubing is on the right angle pipe to the right of the question mark, above the larger pipe (according to another to Toymodder) and I think this is correct.

The pipe I'm using was suggested by another person and SSS Automotive. I just wanted to confirm.

[Edit] Well I think you are right Adam, as this photo confirms (from Glen's Celica 1GGZE install).

I want to run a Vacuum gauge as well as the Boost gauge so I'll use a Tee piece to split the hose under the dash.

    Cheers,

The AC switch on the dash has 5 wires:

    Blue w/White stripe
    Green
White w/Black stripe (2 of these)
    Black w/Red or Brown stripe

I've got my boost/vac gauge running out of the Power steering?? vac point at the front of the manifold. Not sure if you can t piece it but it works fine from here.
