What size wheel would you need? does the stock 14" still slip over or not?
What of brake lines as well?
I'm running Work 17 x 7s but they are overkill. I can't say for sure but the 14" might be too small. Other factors might influence that answer.

I've rebuilt my R32 calipers and checked the spacing but haven't got to actually bolting them on yet - too busy with the 1G-GZE conversion. I've also had the R32 rotors machined in anticipation. But I know two people who have R32 combos on their Luxes and they work beautifully.

I think it's a very affordable upgrade for the Lux especially with the engine upgrade. I'll mock up the R32 combo tonight when I get home and take some snaps.

I'm pretty sure Sideshow has R32s on his Lux as well.

What rotor diameter do you end up with when you run the R32 caliper on the Hilux?

My mate is looking into a brake upgrade for his 1GGTE hilux so this info is very much appreciated

Are you talking about the Nissan calipers or the Brembo ones that come on the V-Spec R32 GTR??

I think one of the sponsors on this forum CVAP sells the nissan calipers for about $300 a pair with all the clips and pins etc. The Brembos would be much more.

The rebuild kit I got was genuine Nissan - about $120 from memory.

The caliper/rotor set (2 x calipers, 2 x rotors) about $250 - $350 from a used Jap importer. I saw a set on Ebay for $299. SSS Automotive, JustJap, etc

You can get a generic rebuild kit for these calipers for $30 from Repco for an axle set.

    Bugger!

What do you get Takai? I got seals, rubbers, O-rings, clips and lube for each piston in the Nissan set. I got them through the same place as I got the calipers and rotors (SSS Automotive).

Well i have 15's on my front wheels, and they are Convo Pro's.

I'm hoping because the wheel is naturally spaced out a fair bit, it shouldn't make squat difference.

Might have to borrow a set of calipers off a mate and test fit it, see if it'll go.

I definately need more stopping power, with the amount of grunt i'm about to get

so, is it the caliper that needs to be shifter 20mm or the rotor?

EDIT: also do you have a picture of the setup dummy mounted?

Peter, I don't know if you saw my question earlier but can you just confirm for me that in purchasing the above package and following your setup explained earlier the only machining to the disc is for the centre hole and no machining of the disc diameter is required?

    Cheers.

My information from one of the guys that has done this setup is that

    1. The stud pattern is okay for the rotor
    2. The rotor centre has to be machined a little to allow it to slip over the Hilux axle
    3. A 20mm spacer machined to centre the caliper over the disc
    4. Longer bolts to fit through the caliper, spacer and Hilux hub

    That's it.

But to be 100% sure I will confirm this info.

is it spaced further towards the wheel, or further away?

could you use rotors with deeper hats to offset them?
