    G'Day mate,

Closed loop boost controllers measure the actual boost pressure and then adjust the wastegate to suit (i.e. if the boost is low it will close the wastegate, if its high it will open it), it will continuously monitor the boost level and adjust the wastegate to suit. The EBC determines the required duty cycle of the solenoid by looking at the actual boost and comparing it with the target boost level (set by the user) and then it goes through some calculations and gets a duty cycle which it then applies to the solenoid.

I havent heard of the boost controller in that ebay ad so i cant help you there...

Not necassarily, most of the systems on the market today rely on the user to set it up with the correct gains (this will determine the boost response). Once the gains are set the boost will respond pretty much the same every time.

A self learning EBC will actively tweak the gains in order to increase the boost response, im not sure which have this feature though.
