Default email notifications (all sorted, ta)

Apologies for the duh factor of this question but i'm obviously missing the trees for the forest.

I have turned off every option i can find in my User CP that might vaguely result in an email notification for a subscribed thread BUT they still keep coming? Do i have to log out and in again to activate the changes ?

Justen - those rules apply to new subscriptions, you need to go into subscriptions and change the subcription type of all threads to none.

You'll also have to delete or move any current subscriptions to the no email notification folder.

    Rona,

If "Do not subscribe" is selected then you don't even get notice in your CP that someone has replied...

It needs to be set to "No email notification" so that it still lets you know when somebody replies, it just doesn't send an email...

Same with deleting any current subscriptions, if you still want to know when somebody has replied via your CP, then you need to change the subscription to "No email notification" rather than deleting it...

Yes but you have to go through every new thread you reply to and set that to no email notification, quite frankly I CBF'd doing that. I'm on here too much to need any notification as I've already read the reply before I've checked my emails anyway.

Having "No email notification" as the Default Thread Subscription Mode instead of "Do not subscribe" automatically stops any emails being sent to any new thread replied to...

Agreed I just got sick of the subscribed threads taking over the front page of USER CP, if you aren't getting an email notification being subscribed is pretty pointless anyway so I just did that.
