    Default Gze Build up questions

Hey there all, just have some quick questions, have lloked but cant find exactly what im after (sorry if i have missed it somewhere)

ok, i have a Ae101 gze motor, what im thinking of doing is a Full rebuild and need advice on is...

i want to run standard computer and keep it basicly factory as im happy the way she is

this is my list of stuff i was thinking of getting..
    HKS valve springs $137

    HKS Adjustable cam gears $124

    HKS camshafts $276 each
    272 / 264 / 256 272/264-8.1 lift 256-8.0 lift

    HKS metal head gasket $110
    bore 82mm 2.0mm 8.7 comp
    1.6mm 9.0
    1.0mm 9.6
    0.7mm 9.9

    HKS timing belt $140
    all in USD

What would be best to build up the motor abit as well as keep the standard computer, the motor will have a fmic and ever a nevo pully or smaller sc pully

also does anybody know where to get rings and bearings from

    All help would be great

    Thanks
    Eddie

thats not keeping it "basically factory"

factory is rebuilding it with new rings and bearings and giving it a freshen up.

i would run aftermarket management to get the best outta what you are proposing, i used acl rings on my engine. i have used them before and not had a drama

I dont think the standard computer will make the best of the cams you are proposing. It has the ability to scale fuelling for extra boost to a limited degree, but to make the most of both increased duration cams and extra boost, you would really be best advised to go aftermarket...

    Hope that helps

Not sure where you are getting your prices from as i dont think they look too accurate.

HKS gears are around $300 each from memory

My HKS gasket was $400 odd from a 2mm

and $276 for a HKS cam shaft .......... Forget it they are like 500 - 600 each

I think your prices are in US dollars

he said that, i nearly said the same thing as you 30PSI.

was going to ask where he got his stuff from, as the prices are too good to be true (they were)

the acl gasket kit listed for the gze (aw11) should be suitble for you as they are pretty much all the same bar the inlet manifold gasket (bigport -v- small port) and the gze kit as listed for the aw11 actaully comes with a small port gasket which is obviously incorrect but would suit your ae101 small port engine.

-I dont think theres much need to upgrade the valve springs

-some local cam grinders migh be able to do you some cams at a cheap rate and work well

I recomend just a decent intercooler and a larger nevo pulley

The combination you've listed should work well, but there is an element of overkill to it.

I'd be going for mild cams, possibly 256 inlet and 264 exhaust, grab the cam gears and leave the rest stock. Use the money you save to get the head tidied up and you'll have a good thing.

NA cams would be a good bet, otherwise most of the air will probably be blown out the exhaust on the overlap

    Hey there all,

    thanks for all your help...

i will be running a 1ggte fmic, and yeah i was looking at na cams before also some stage2 na cams from YellaTerra or CrowCams

are all the bearings the same as a na 4a????
ive replace most gaskets about 500k ago, so all seals r sweet
