Default MA61 KYB Front Shocks Question "The Shocks Thread"

Can anyone help me out here? Not too long ago i was changing my front suspension and i took out the front shocks and too my surprise they were KYB's. Now its only just occurred to me that KYB dont make shocks for the MA61's. So some searching and looking at different part numbers, i couldn't match the numbers on these shocks to any others that i knew fit the MA61. So i was hopeing that someone here could help and tell me what car they belong to.

The part number is 365001 and under that is GB24

    Cheers
    Sam

KYB dont currently make shocks for our cars, but until Norbie bought the last set, they did

Norbie, i hate you. But would you happen to have the part number by any chance? I would like to know if the ones i have are MA61 specific shocks or ones for a different car that just happen to fit.

KYB's aren't fantastic (or are you keeping things close to stock?)

Go for tokicos or find something else that'll fit. There are some pretty easy-fitting shocks out there - just need to get a little creative.

I was looking for a cheap replacement for my current shocks. Thats why i'm trying to find if they still make the ones mentioned above. Then once found and priced, i was planning on pricing some AGX's (MR2 front Focus rear) and comparing the two. If the price is right with the AGX's i might just get them and if not i'll just get cheap ones for the time being. I'll have to pay the suspension shop a visit tommorow.

Why does whitleline still list KYB shocks for the MA61 then on their webstore.

They have a listing for the part you mention, plus this one:

    Toyota Cressida MX83Supra MA61 Frt
    Code: #Y365076
    Price: AU$168.18 (Australian Dollars)
NOTE: Australian deliveries must add 10% GST

I have been eyeing off the AGX's on 935motorsports site, also have some TRD 4 way adjustables for the MA61 interesting.

Edit: It be a bit for shipping but 935motorsports in the states list the AGX front MR2 and focus rear with the required mods eg spacer for the strut etc for US$399.00 for all four and then shipping would be on top.

No the whiteline cataloge is not out of date. Cross referencing with the american catalog and the australian catalog, the part # for the MA61 shocks are the same as the australian MX83 shocks. 365076 for the Front and 343042 for the Rear. For those i just got quoted $360 all round.

365001 is the old listing for the MA61 front shocks, i happened to find a suspension shop that still has a pair, they also wanted $235 for them.

And of course the AGX part numbers for the MR2 F and FOCUS R couldn't be found.

935motorsports.com have a group buy for the AGX's going on celicasupra.com atm. 8 spots are open from memory. If anyone wanted to double up on shipping and the price was good, i'll be happy to share the shipping cost.

The KYB's I had in my MA61 were woeful for a performance application. I'm glad to be finally rid of them.

There is a Koni shock listed with whiteline:

    TOYOTA CELICA SUPRA 84/85
    Code: #K862328
    Price: AU$206.00 (Australian Dollars)
NOTE: Australian deliveries must add 10% GST

Now looking at the koni site this would suggest its a front strut insert
    http://www.koni.com/_cars/_general_i.../identifi.html

    TOYOTA SUPRA CRESSIDA
    Code: #K80401064SPORT
    Price: AU$178.73 (Australian Dollars)
NOTE: Australian deliveries must add 10% GST

they also list that part but whether or not it is for an MA61 is a phone call away or a visit for me on a day off work. By looking at the link to the koni site I assume it is a rear shock.

Actually im not too sure if those are the correct numbers, i spose they are if they are listed on the whiteline catalog but i couldn't find those numbers in the Koni catalog The rear Koni part number is listed for the MA70.
Updated the top post with all part numbers from the different brands.

As I said the rear one is listed just as supra/cressida so i had no idea whether it was for an MA61 or not. However the front definately are correct.

I posted the rear part number in the hope that someone could clarify as to whether they were for the MA61 or MA70.

Yeah it appears to be a MA70 part, the question is the Ma61 is not listed on there at all and if they produce front inserts why not produce a rear shock

Oh okay. Comparing part numbers inbetween the cressida and the supra on the KYB american catalog, TOYOTA SUPRA CRESSIDA Code: #K80401064SPORT, will fit the MA61.
