Default 2T Head and 3T Block, standard items - any problems?

    Hi guys,

I need to replace the block on my standard 2T in my TA22. The thing blows a huge amount of smoke and I don't want to drive it again as it is. I've been looking around for a while now for a replacement bottom end without any luck. I have found a good condition 3T bottom end (from a T18) - is there any problems bolting on my head from my 2T to the 3T block?

Anything that needs to be swapped, replaced, or anything to look out for?

Also, are the camshafts the same? I've got a mild cam from a 2T...

Any help, advice or anyone who's got a good condition 2T block would be appriciated!!

All should transfer over from the 2T, Nickel.

The rumor is that the 2T head may raise the compression ratio a bit. Not sure of this one without measuring the combustion chamber capacities.
If you have the time and cash have the 2T head cleaned up and if standard when they face it get 1mm taken off to raise the compression.

All your good 2T bits will go into the 3T. The cam should make the 3T nice.

Pick the better looking/less worn bits, such as; rocker arms, rocker shafts, push rods and make up a set of good cam followers from the 16 you have. Use the lighter flywheel of the two.

    Regards

The heads are NOT the same !

Yes they will bolt up fine but there are variations in the ports and combustion chamber size. Rodger ahs covered everything you need to worry about in his post above.
