The shims are often available from Motorcycle shops on an exchange + $$ value.
Exhaust should be in the order of .010 to .012", I will check and edit accordingly. Try typing "18RG valve clearance" into Google, it will definitely be published on teh web.

I found I was having noise issues and it was a tight lifter (bucket), I adjusted it with wet and dry (#600 with WD40) and trial fitting until it was nice. Still works.

210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

I sold all my shims to Shaun Maloney but I am told that common brands fit.

I'll check my engine book and post the clearance for you later, can't remember off hand maybe 12-15 thou ex HOT maybe not.

i have just checked all the valve clearances and they all the exhaust sit on 12 thou, but its very vibraty and noisey at about 3000rpm. The engine is hot, so its a hot mesurement, is there anything else that could be causing this high pitched rattle? sounds like a valve...but doesnt appear to be?
