Default 4agze only boosting 6psi with 165mm pulley

hey guys only recently my 4agze with the 165mm pulley on it which used 2 boost 10psi all day every day is suddenly only boosting 6psi. I hav checked for any obvious boost leaks tightening all hose clamps etc. Is it possible i am getting belt slip as the belt was replaced a few weeks ago, or could the charger itself be on the way out. The clutch is also engaging obviously, but wondering if these cluthces can slip. i know in some circumstances iv read on the forums clutches failing, but not half failing if u know wat i mean.

    help much appreciated

a new belt will stretch, so i would re-tension it for a start. also did you change the vacum pipe over on the ABV?

abv is by passed and it using aftermarket management. if the belt is slipping woulnt it hit 10psi and then say in the higher rpm wen it becomes harder to turn the charger slip then?

    Yeah,
Belt slip is usually at the higher revs say above 5500 for stock 4AGZE.
With a 'slack as' belt (i.e. completely loose) I could still get 10psi on my car, with the pullies sized for 18psi (SC14 conversion). Usually belt slip is accompanied by a sqwoooooooork sound when you try to 'rev through' the slip.. New belts will need to be re-tensioned very soon after installation (5 minutes of running usually) especially SC belts as they have a lot of load and they very quickly settle into the pulley grooves and get slack again. Even then, about 2 weeks on you will probably need to re-tension the belt again, then a couple months after that....then its pretty much good for a long time.
YMMV - that is just my experiences with caning the SC14 on high boost.

Regarding the sc clutch, does your car still make the same pitched 'whine' you are used to and does the pitch vary solidly with RPM? If so your clutch is probably ok.

    Cheers, Nick
