Post HELP... 3SG motor n A01B rear diff into GA61

    norb/all...
i have checked on ur "project site"... what do u mean by 30 degrees?!?
i have compared the MA60 n SXE10 (donor/front clip) clutch cylinders... there r equal length...

here is the pix of the clutch cylinder clearance...

    engine to firewall clearance...

and also this engine has no fuel return line... anyone know any toy fuel pump is a 1 way pump? any suggestion?!

OK, it looks like you're having problems because the master cylinder is too long and is fouling the inlet plenum. I didn't have a problem like this with my engine conversion, the plenum is on the other side with a 2JZ. I had to mount my master cylinder on an angle to get enough side clearance (it was fouling the turbo), but that's different to what's happening here.

All I can suggest is scouring the wreckers for a car with a shorter master cylinder, there's bound to be something out there.

that (pic 1) looks like a fuel line in with a pulsation dampener - you need to find the fuel pressure regulator elsewhere on the fuel rail as it will have the return line attached to it.

as for shorter clutch slaves, try corrola or celicas at the wreckers.

fwiw, an RA40 clutch master is 3.25 inches long, the high-pressure line is attached to the side facing the engine and the reservoir is directly above the unit not angled like yours.

Actually I don't think these engines have a return line at all, and the FPR is located near the pump.

im using the SXE10 clutch master cylinder... that is why it looks weird with the angled reservoir...

i have 1 more extra clutch master cylinder from a FF corolla... but it is having the same length of MA61 or the SXE10... if i couldnt find any suitable during this weekend, i try to relocate it...

i will try to check on the SXE10 fuel pump in these few days (depend on when my friend can bring 1 for me)... i think the FPR is integrated with the pump... any aftermarket or other toy model pump suitable for this type of fuel delivery system?!

    thanks for the input... guys...

I think most (if not all) newer Toyotas are using the single fuel line system.

Note it shouldn't be very hard to convert to a return line system, you just need to buy a normal FPR and graft it to the end of the fuel rail.

what im worried is the fuel pressure... standard toy FPR is only 36 or 41 psi... i dont know bout this engine fuel pressure spec... im still searching for it...

If the MA61 clutch master is anything like the AE86 one then you can grind the end off it. My clutch MC is shortened by about 10mm to get it to fit.

ah... i would have expected the beams engines to have non-return-line fuel rail - but not the 3SGE.. i learn something new every day

The fuel pressure regulator on the IS200 and the IS300 (and I assume on the SXE10) is located inside the fuel pump assembly in the tank, together with the fuel filter.
Not visible in the IS300 diagram below is the fuel filter. The IS200 "Fuel Pump and Sender Gauge Assembly" contains a fuel filter which takes up all available space and requires removal of the assembly for filter replacement (superb design, toyota).

Other engines that are definitely return-less are the 1UZ-FE out of the post 97 LS400s and probably everything after it.

    Are you sure?
    I thought it did.

Pretty sure Bill Sherwood said it was non-return

So are you saying only the Caldina beams 3SGE's have nonreturn?
