Default 1GGTE to Hilux conversion help

ive searched the forums and have yet to find anything. i was just wondering if there is writeups or info regarding this conversion?
im going to be modifiying this engine, would be it worth getting a half cut minus wiring loom and ECU and then get an aftermarket ECU wired in? this is just my thinking, but wont the only things needed to be wired in from the hilux be the dash warning lights and gauges?

also, how many aftermarket parts are available for this engine. things like cams, engine internals, vavletrain, bigger injectors, exh manifolds????

ill probably have more Q's later on.

    regards ned

There is a multitude of information on here about all the questions you have asked Ned. Use the search tool and go to anything with 1G or 1GGTE/1GGZE/1GG. I have persoanlly posted numerous things about where and how I did all my mods, and have seen numerous posts about wiring diagrams and tech info on fitment etc.

If you get through some of that, PM or call Forcefed6 and he will be able to put you in touch with just about any performance part your heart desires for a 1G.

alrite, i guess i wasnt putting the correct words into the search engine.

id like a 1jz but they are larger than the 1gg and dont allow for a good sized radiator to be fitted without removing the radiator cross brace.

but i bets its built to hilt, fully forged internals.

after some more research, it seems theres not many fitment issues cause of its rather small block size. CRS also make a mount kit for it so that another hurdle.
ive also come across the wiring diagrams and ECU plug diagrams.

its a pretty straight forward conversion.

Actually it has standard pistons, crank, rods, valves, valvetrain and intake manifold, it basically just has head studs, port work and camshafts/springs

Sard 800cc, Sard make them They are meant for a skyline but are a direct drop in fit, plug and all. They even have the split pintle on teh end like the stock injector, and are fluro green, not that it matters. There is a miriad of injectors that will fit/work, inclduing anything with an 11mm top O ring.

Some more info please, what model Hilux is it?

You should read infotechplus's thread about his conversion.
    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16629

    Lots of info in there.

I'd get a full loom. Most aftermarket ECU's have adapters to plug straight into stock looms.

You can get any kind of performance mod for any engine. It all depends on how much money you have.

    Good luck with your conversion.
