Tricky....... this one will not involve any cutting or chopping of any kind, my girl is very particular about her car (which is fair enough cos its farkn sweet) and i've been warned about any cutting As tempting as it will be to cut stuff i like my nuts

xcedricx, I think the norm is 3-4k for the 2ZZ, so it's not uber cheap. Buying an entire write off at an auction could prove to be the economical way of doing it... I've since given up aspirations of owning a 2ZZ, 'cos it'd have a hard time dragging around my arse of lard.

    Wildsupra... That's an aluminium radiator.

And my girlfriend is currently threatening to disown me for the atrocities I plan on comitting, so I feel your pain!... 'sif flares aren't hot on an RA23! Oh well, if I can't perform surgery on my own car, I ain't cooking anymore!
Nikita the RA23 is almost finished .

I know of a failed echo 2ZZ-GE conversion that is being sold for $4000, complete with all echo stuff and the frontcut the 2ZZ-GE came out of.

    1. buy it
    2. rebuild echo
    3. .....?
    4. profit

if i was in that position i would most likly pay the extra cash and go the beams 3S in that case. there got proven power and from what i hear they respond well to a turbo as well.

a wreck with a 2ZZ from a auction would be good, but its jsut having the luck of finding one.

kanazai, your best bet would be to change to an aftermarket ECU that can handle dual vvti.

    Unhappy Re: Beams 3sge Rwd

an used bolt-on turbo kit cost bout the AUS$5k as well...
but if dropping it into a light car... i dont think this is necessary...

The second prettiest man on ToyMods has it right. Not going to be many easy ways to change from MAF to MAP that i know of. Unless Bill knows some interesting tidbits with the specific BEAMS ECU?

    mr. orlando,
so far i know only Motec and TOM's ECU can control the dual vvt-i... but it is too expensive to do that just to run it without MAF...

do anyone know how to convert it without changing the ori ECU?!

Given the complexity of the factory ECU and how locked down it probably is, I don't think you're going to have much luck. There is bound to be some product for it, how much resolution you'd get out of it I dunno. I'd either run the factory one, or suck it up and get an ECU.
