    Default Handbrake Cables

Toyota don't list handbrake spares any more for 1987 RT142 Avanti, which I need to complete my RT104 Disc brake rear conversion.
Anyone know of a fix? Shorten one of the imbalanced cables and if so what method is used to crimp securley?
I checked the rear of the Crown saloon, which uses a drum/disc setup not unlike the Avanti, but the cables are not compatible. I checked many designs in the wreckers and could not come up with a compromise and only have one parts car (Avanti).

Any Celicas or Tarago's use the same system?

Called all round melbourne wreckers, no one has a wrecked RT142 would you believe?

    Suggestions welcome.

Can anyone sell me a half cable? You might have spare?

Can someone send me photos of how they did their handbrakes on the Celica/Corona Live axle disc conversion?

Take your marked cables to a brake and clutch shop. They will shorten/lengthen whatever you want, they have to do it correctly, so no dramas with things unravelling.

I mark the position of the on car locater bracket on the cable sheath, and mark required length. My mate does them for me in 20 minutes.

    cheers Chuck.

If push comes to shove, you could use www.autocables.com.au - they are located in Greensborough.
