    Default dying turbo signs ?

having not had this happen , whats the telltale signs of a turbo on the way out ?

i have a feeling seals might be out on the ct20b i have - at idle smoke , smoke after drivng distance in traffic .

I dont feel it was rings , as the engine in question did not smoke before , with another turbo on it

check for lateral play in the shaft, and also leaking oil out the compressor wheel. when you boost it, how much smoke does it put out?

Oil smoke at boost huffing out the tail pipe - kinda like the Chattanooga. Inconsistent boost ramping - ie doesn't boost progressively, and may even go backwards (10 psi at 5000 and 5psi at 5500 rpm), turbo whines like a tom cat.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.
