Default Speedometer Drive ratios which W50 Box.

Playing with this unknown W50 box I just bought I find it has a 6x20 Speedo drive gear.
It also has a very large rubber universal joint coupler on the cut tailshaft at the rear of the box which i have never seen before.
I dont want to pull the box apart (33111-20090) just to find it is a Celica box.

SO I pulled out the speedo gear and checked with the fiche.

RA28 has N=6 33481-22010 gear and this gear is marked 6x20.
So i guess it is common old garden variety Celica with 14 inch rims LT2000/18RC

Other gear ratios I have FYI

    5x18 33403-39016
    6x19 33403-69026
    and
    5x17 33403-39036

Picked these up 25 years ago never used.

Anyone had experience calibrating a speedo using lower profile tyres and larger rims by changing the speedo drive gear?

What gears did you end up using.

Which way do you go to speed up the reading?

Slow down the reading to calibrate it?

FYI we get booked less than 4K over in VIC and it costs $165 a time.

TA22 uses 33481-14010 and is N=6 according to the parts listing.

is there a thread on this already?

    Thanks

What size tyres do you have, and what diff ratio do you have?

    Thanks

I checked the box and it had just that ratio.
Does this mean it came out of a 14 inch wheel car or a 13?

    Lt2000?

    No idea.
It means it came from a car with an overall diff/tyre ratio the same as what you have.
