Default KE 35 conversion from 2 to 3 speed (auto)

    Hi guys

I have just completed (99%) the conversion of a 3k engine and 2 speed (japanese auto) to a 4k engine and 3 speed (GMH trimatic auto) but have found the tailshaft from the 2 speed does not fit the 3 speed. I have obtained another tailshaft which matches up to the 3 speed, but it does not match the diff. (I think the reason is the diff from the KE 35 is japanese but the 4k 3 speed bolted up to an aussie (borg warner) diff.

What is the easiest and cheapest thing to do, I thought it would be getting someone to use both tailshafts I have to make one that fits, does anyone know someone that could do this for me and how much do you expect this to cost.

I am in the Sydney region.

Also, if anyone wants a 3k and 2 speed in good condition, it is free to anyone that wants it

    Cheers
    Woody

Assuming the length is correct, use the trimatic tailshaft, and change the rear mounting at the rear universal joint to jap spec (hint - put in new universal joints while your at it!)

Very easy job that most people could do at home with basic tools. What suburb are you in if you have dramas?

(I always thought the Jap and BW had the same bolt up pattern to the pinion flange? Correct me if I'm wrong 'cause I've only ever had Jap diffs in my 'rollas!)
    Cheers

from my memory the flange on the rear of the tailshaft is the only difference. i came across this once when changing from bango to borg warner
