    Default Turbo'ing 4agze aw11

    Hey guys,

ive decided i will eventually turbo charge the aw11, as getting more power from the sc'er is hard. Im just collecting parts at the moment, what I have so far is a haltech e6x, and an s15 turbo.

I need to get a custom manifild made up, aswell as oil/water lines. Im planning on a water to air cooler, like from pwr. Im also planning to use 7mgte injectors, and upgrade pump?

Im aiming for approx 170rwkw (if I can get 12's ill be happy!)

What I want to know, is is the stock box/lsd (lsd is aftermarket too) hold up, and considering none of the work will be done by myself, what should I budget (apart from the haltech/turbo)

This is a budget build, but I want it to be right first go!

If you have the e series box it should be fine, c series aren't as beefy, but driven with sympathy they should last a reasonable amount of time.

Head over to http://www.mr2oc.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56 for a dedicated boosted AW11 forum, where all types of 4AGE boosting shenanigans are talked about.

the s/c gearbox should hold anything you can throw at it power wise but the stock clutch obviously wont so you will need to upgrade to something like a 3 puck ceramic or brass or similar
The pwr barrel i/c ive seen work well on the aw11 and fit in the car easily however at that power level you should be able to get away with a st205 w/a setup if you can find one for a decent price.

7mgte injectors will be fine for that much power however the stock fuel pump will probably need replacing with say a walbro 255 i believe alot of people use them here and it will fit in the stock location.

Make sure you use braided steel oil feed and return lines for the turbo you will need to have the sump modified to accept an oil return from the turbo.

Aswell as a turbo manifold a dump pipe will need to be fabricated

At that power aswell it would be adviseable to use an oil cooler as the 4agze dosent have one unlike the 4age.

Also you cant well you might be able to but i wouldnt want to use the stock s/c inlet manifold so you will need to source the 4age inlet manifold/throttle body and throttle linkage. The s/c throttle cable may reach but im not 100% on that the n/a throttle cable worked fine on the s/c but i hear the s/c cable is a bit shorter.

    Hope this helps

there was a guy on the mr2oc that has a 305 rwhp 4agte useing a stock gze inlet manifold, i did have pics of it saved somewhere, has the TB bolted striaght onto the inlet manifold. HK$ twincharge uses the gze inlet, and they still got the 300-350hp figure. so the gze inlet cant be that bad.....

1 last q, the 4agze is up to that power?
    indeed.

Make sure you use braided steel oil feed and return lines for the turbo
deffinatly braided line for the oil feed. block to remote mounted tee peice that holds the oil press sender and oil line to turbo. i use high temp runner hose for my return, no smaller than 5/8 in diameter. (can forward you pics of my oil line set-up if you want Koffee).

At that power aswell it would be adviseable to use an oil cooler as the 4agze dosent have one unlike the 4age.
hehe... the lil feral has a stock w2o cooler on the gze. and a w2o cooler for the transmission.

Personally i would go to the FWD manifold along with the alternator mount for it. That way the alt is pissed off to the back of the engine where its not affected so much by extreme heat, and you have more room to mount the turbo.

Also the FWD inlet points nicely in the direction you want for the IC, and you can use an NA cable.

I used the NA manifold when i did mine low budget as well. Mounted alt as takai said. Its nice and neat, and fits well. All for the sake of about 50 bucks. SSS even gave me a free alternator.
