The w2a setup is fantastic, keeps the temps down all the time - the pump is wired just through a relay at 12v - it switches on when the rest of the car turns on!

    Here we go. FUTURE JUMP

    Pulleys which broke my engine:

    Ricer paraphernalia

... because american M&M's make excellent packing materials?

PULLEYS and belts... I realise I have not taken a pic of the actual pullies, will be rectified soon.

    And.. the money shot

... they allowed me to pull these numbers on the dyno...

    Before... Oh look... go CAS...

    Oil inside CAS = bad

This is an important CAS changing step - normally you need to mark everything. but as I discovered, taking photos >>>> marking things - because the guys who will eventually rebuild the CAS will no doubt rub the markings off... p.s. I can't tell where TDC is for Cylinder 1, because my larger crank pulleys blocks it.. gold!

Also make sure you note where the bolt is. Use the grease marks as a guide

A big thanks to Performance Ignition in Nunawading for turning this around so quickly.

Time to put it all back together...

    And... back we go

So... after that drama - the engine started pissing oil EVERYWHERE.

Decided to do a rebuild. painfully expensive.

    As promised - the pics!

First, the bowels of CW Engines

    Stock OE forged pistons, chillin'

A few pics of the block itself

    Detonation...

Notice, no poo for the HG

are you sure it's detonation marks on your pistons ? it looks like foreign object damage.

The jury is out as to what exactly it was - but in any case the old pistons are out, and wiseco forgies went in.

yeah, no worries. did you go through and have a good clean of all your intake ? check your supercharger etc ? it would suck to do it again. and is pedobear on your helmet ?

Yeah, supercharger got a full oil change too. No idea what happened tbh, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it was a dodgy weld a while back.

    And yes, it's Pedobear.

Very cool AE92. That set-up is simply awesome. I'm envious to say the least . Nice work.

Heh, now im thinking about building another one. Gavatron already has an AE92 SX which we are GZEing. But something about that car just makes me want to own it, or another one, again.

Haha takai - get back on it!

Also the knock sensor is stuffed, so the check engine light is on, and the ECU has defaulted to LIMP MODE which means it is dumping fuel like hell.

Engine builders are rustling up another knock sensor as we speak to replace it. In the mean time, am driving it very pleasantly. Need that knock sensor in so at least the fuelling will resume.
