Ive just come up on this site on a computer im not naturally logged in on, and found the majority of the forum is now *private* for unregistered users?!

is this new, or is it just ive never noticed?

don't know I just posted a link on another forum and ppl couldn't access it (forsale), but I was using the net from uni last nigth and have done in the past when I'm not logged on and accessed all bar the club members ride, if it changed it must of been today.

i think it just started today... it's only the tech page that's visible... hmm... the tech is the most valuable page though.. i reckon that should be hidden

Nope, not just you. I checked just then from my other dev box and it comes up as mostly private. Only open forums are C&E T&C and Feedback

It is new we decided to do this last night at the board meeting. The thinking is that we want to attract the kind of people that want to contribute or be helped by what the forum and club have to offer and we figure that the stuff being made available to them without registerring is what they need to see to make a decision.

On a slightly more nefarious purpose, with the new vbulletin version admins will no longer use rep to slap people on the wrist but intead use the new built in warning system that can end up with people getting temporary bannings and if they can still read the entire forum then it's not much of a deterrent.

Well, now I guess this means I have to log in to use Toymods at school (not looking for lectures on why I shouldn't be using this at school) but it means one more thing for them to log Can't use Toymods at all now at Tafe any more, I can't log in there at all.

If you mean bankcard when you say bastardcard then you won't be able to use it. Bankcard is no more.
