Default 2s to 3sge head swap?

hi there i didnt find out what i wanted in the search so i am thing of taking the 2s head and slaping a 3s gen1 head on just wondering if the 3s oil galleries and water inlets on are the same as the 2s head or simply does the 3s's head bolt on and which headgasket would be a goer? (2s,3s)

i dont really care if small bits and peces dont line up and befor i hear oh it's a crap idea it'll cost to much and so forth well i can get a 3sge head for $50 complete so

so yeh any info would be great thanks sam

Don't waste your time you'll be spending a shitload more money on modifications to get it running.

2s is good for fuel not power. If you want a little extra power get extractors, larger carbie, upgraded cam but its a waste of money either way

all i care about is if it bolts on which it does really its the crappy head design that holds back the 2s-c non-crossflow ovc poo but if i can bolt on the 3s head and get a tiner head gasket and shim the head up to pump the comp up and a set of sidies which i have plenty lying

i am doing the same as bolting on a cosworth twin cam head on a 2l escort motor and we all now how the esky cosworth went

sam the 3sge is crossflow and as you say the 2s is not also the 3sge pistons have fly cuts in them for the different valve angle 2s pistons wont have these so you will smash valves into pistons

well 4 months ago it did, so it should now?

You need to bore out the 2S block to fit the 3S pistons to get the head combustion chamber/block bore size to line up at least, probably a lot more things.
