Default Need help to identify somethings on a 3t. (have pics)

So basically I need to know what the following things are on a 3t before I drop this into my celica. The first is this green thing. On my 2t in my celica it doesn't have this but on the 3t motor it does. What is it? It says AISIN on it which is also on the carby body so does it hook up to the carby?

Last thing is the two wires going to the carby. On my 2t there is only 1 and on the 3t there is two as seen below. what do they connect to and what would the second wire be on the 3t?

    thanks for any help guys

The thing on the side of the block is a thermal vacumn switch, would have been part of the antipolution.
The thing with two wires is fuel shut of solenoid, needs to be powered and earthed to allow fuel to flow through.

As stated, that green thing is called a BVSV. It is attatched to the engine block to sense temprature, and at a certain temprature, it "switches" internally, connecting those two vac line connections together.

    Thanks for the quick replies.

So i'll just ignore the green BVSV and work where out the power and earth for the fuel shut off solenoid is currently hooked up to my 2t and connect it to that.

The 3TC in My KE15 took power on both wires, one is the fuel shut off and one is the electronic choke

I just hooked up a relay ran the trigger off the ignition at the coil, and ran a new power wire from the battery.

Ok I checked in the workshop book for the 2t and the black wire goes to the fuel cut off solenoid so I'll connect the existing wire that I have on my 2t to the fuel cutoff solenoid on the 3t.
For the other wire to the electric choke what would happen if i don't connect the electric choke? Will there be no choke and thats all?

For a relay setup or something like it to the electric choke can I use the fuel cut off solenoid wire as a trigger to the relay? I assume the wire goes active when the ingition is switched on.

you might be able to get away with hooken them both up to the cut off thing

Itll run withthe fuel cut off solenoid disconnected, but it wont idle

if you don't power the choke, it will take a very very long time to open,
so you car will be running very poorly cept for when it's cold.
just connect it to the igniton coil.

hey guys, after swapping my 3t into another body i am left with the same sort of problem.
On my carb i only have 1 wire coming out of the same part, so is this the fuel cut off solenoid? my car does run but as said above will not idle! where does this wire plug into?

    any help would be apreciated!
    cheers, Josh

hey josh, if you only have one wire coming from this solenoid it is above as stated. this requires 12volts when ignition is on. the car will run beautifully. (had an identicle issue with my 2t)

    good luck mate. Jamie

has anyone considered that the extra wire might be the anti dieseling vavle??? im not sure if they have them just a possibility.
Looking for a new toy. If you have something 18r powered let me know.

i understand what it is, but there is no wire in my engine bay that it would plug into, so what do i need to do? someone above said run it to the coil? so do i just run a wire onto the positive side of the coil?
    cheers, Josh

it simply needs 12v of power when the ignition is on. doesnt really matter where you get it from, as long as it stop when you turn ignition off. grab a multi metre, and find 12 volts somewhere, then turn ignition off, and see if it is still there. if it isnt, tapa wire in and run it to the solenoid. good luck mate. Jamie

the 12volts at the coil prob will work, but it might be worth trying to find another source, (not that i know of anyreason why it would effect the running of the coil, i just wouldnt...)

if someone has more knowledge than i on electrics please feel free to correct me about the coil issue. Jamie.
