Close Ratio Gear set for W5# ??

Just wondering if any one has used someone like Ivan ablins to get a closer ratio gearset made for W5# gearbox ?
i was looking at a TALLER 1ST AND 2 GEAR ..

ask RA45celica i think his sign in is. runs one behind his beams 3s im pretty sure. he usually chimes in whenever rwd 3s's are mentioned.

Glenn got Ivan Albins to make a gearset for the W5x.

with the w55 /57 boxes reverse does not come off the cluster shaft like the early w50 celica boxes so you wouldnt be able to do just the 1st and 2nd
you would have to do the 1st 3 plus the motion gears so 4 all up so while you are at it ,you could change 5th as well
we changed the motion ratio by 18% in our w57 so it made 1st 2.7 2nd became 1.59 make a new 3 rd 1.24 new motions at 1to 1 and a new .880 for 5th gear so only 3 new geras my way
another option would be to find a TA63 4tge gear box that TRD made 1st is 2.58 2nd is 1.6 3rd is 1.24 4th is 1to 1 and their 5th was ,879
also albins takes 12 weeks and will need your cluster shaft and your imput plus your 3rd and 5th gears as well

The ratios you are quoting for 1st and 2nd are what iam after for a W57/58 ,, And it sounds like you could change the ratio a bit in 3rd if needed due to making 2 new gears ,,5 th gear isnt much of a concern to me as iam not using that gear ,, So what was the Ta63 box called ? Ru you happy with the ratio change choice you made ?

im quite happy with the ratios that we came up with if you only wont the motion ratio changed then you would only need a new 3rd and motions done so about 1100 i suppose ,a note their gears are 20 % helical and are thicker with less teeth as well and are not shaved like the std gears like factory so they will be noisier than what you would be used to

Sounds rare as ..was that a W5# alloy box ?

yes TRD made the ratios for the w57 at that time been out of production since 1990
