If its not on the floor where you last parked your car then you are either burning it or its going into your cooling system.
When you first start it in the morning does smoke come from the exhaust? if yes the possibly valve seals are worn.
check for crankcase pressurisation, undo the oil filler and see how much crankcase pressure and fumes are emitted, lots =rings also check that the pcv valve is not blocked as a possitive crankcase presure can force oil passed worn rings. also do a compression test. Both wet and dry a wet test will tell you if your rings are worn or not.To do this have engine at running temp, remove plugs, fit a compression tester in spark plug hole, open throttle wide and crank motor until a maximum pressure is achieved. do this with all cylinders and record the results. Then squirt a little oil into the spark plug hole and crank engine over as before.Do this with all cylinders, record results. If the reading is substantially higher that the first test then your rings are worn

how often do you have to fill it up? is the underside of the motor clean?

most common places would be front/rear main seal, sump gasket, oil drain plug, oil filter,

that or its getting burnt off....

sump plug is a tad dirty..
i think i am burning it off from spark plugs/leads need replacing, and im working on that..

but the main reason i asked was, before i found out it was almost empty, it wasn't running to it's full power.. ie - id put the accelerator down, and get no power out of it.. it felt like the clutch was still in..

the leads are a little melted, and spark plugs arent terribly expensive.. and if im firing on only 3 cylinders, no power there too..

but when i topped it up, my car seemed to have more oil than it was telling me.. dip stick read a dot of oil.. i put it only a litre, and it was full.. it took a bit over a month i think to burn that 1 litre..

and theres not enough smoke to be my rings, i highly doubt that..

once the i topped up, car ran normally again..
