Hey man, is your van mod plated?? I've done a 1UZ conv into my LWB hiace and aparrently it cant be mod plated because it doesn't have a "full chassis".

Anyhow, I'm running the G55 box also, it's holding up fine with 450000kms on it, but i feel your pain between 2nd and 3rd!!

I thought it were 3rd and 4th that had a gap . My 7M cruiser G55 just runs out of puff in 4th on a average hill travelling at 80 but 3rd is reving too hard.

ive got a SBV hiace and have thought of this idea, but didnt think it would fit due to the length. Did you have much trouble fitting it, and did it change the location of the gear stick?

Gear stick location and gearbox mount remained the same as this how I planned it when I made the engine mounts.

Cannot run the engine fan as too close to radiator.

You have to do a bit of tunnel work to allow Turdo and Inlet to clear.

If you emptied my van and gave to a young inexperienced driver, they could get themself's into all sorts of trouble, especially if they were street racing or showing off.

Mine weighs 2600kg's and when I am on the highway and overtake a B'Double, I have found myself doing 150kph whilst overtaking and boy does the disturbed air from the Prime Mover shift my van around.

Yeah mine weighs about 2500kg with all my gear in the back, thats why im after a little more power.
Did you have to upgrade the brakes or suspension?, and did the 2j bolt up to the stock van gearbox?, were you able to use the stock 2j ecu, or do you need to go aftermarket??
Plus ive found 5th gear in my van on the freeway revs pretty high, and i use more petrol on freeways then around town. maybe because the stock motor dosnt like to rev.

No change to suspension or brakes, although I do use 4wd front pads.
Just had to fit the 2j bellhousing to standard box.
Used the 2jzgte stock ecu, the only problem I am having is that it pings a lot - probably due to the weight. Might have to go aftermarket so timing can be adjusted. And I havn't been able to get the tacho to work.
Yes it is more economical under 100kph, does rev a bit high. I get around 380 - 420 for 65lt fill.

RCH12 SBV? - google! Don't whether they were sold in NZ. Another name is Granvia, which is the people carrying version.
