    Awsome!

Ive been folloring this thread closely.

For those that cant be bothered searching Supra forums link

    http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/...hlight=spiller

Wonder how much different it would be for the Soarer. Prob not much Id imagine. But I have heard that the manifolds are different, or was that between JZA80 and Jzz30?

Shouldn't be any different aslong as your soarer has the 1JZ twin turbo and not the non turbo 2JZ or 1JZ single vvti turbo engine.
Only thing i could see being different is maybe clearance of the wastegate pipe on the manifold? I'll let spiller confirm that

Any reason you didn't use a 90deg fitting on the turbo inlet instead of a banjo?

    Thanks for the info.

I had the same problem getting my oil return line. I think I might get it modded a bit smaller.

cheers mate, im assuming you are a member on supraforums...do you have a different user name over there?

and as beasht said, the manifolds for the JZZ30 and JZA70 are interchangable and he was quite correct in saying that wastegate clearance is a potential issue. the manifold im suing is actually desgined for a Z30 but ive JUST managed to squeeze the wastegate in there...all be it its a small 38mm gate.

no particular reason, the guy who sourced them for me said the 90 degree fittings were far more expensive and i didnt think much of it at the time. there is no doubt that the 90 degree fittings are better - these banjos are a bit tricky to get right but im sure we'll have some fun with them tonight when we fill it with oil

well i finally brought the car home yesterday and might i say at the end of this weekend, im absolutely spent. all day yesterday was devoted to getting the car looking ok for the car event today - i didnt consume a sinlge bit of food for 24 hours.

so its all up and running and might i say i am in love...

there are some minor things to tidy up but they will be taken care of over the next couple of weeks. i can report that it seems to be running quite well without a tune thus far. not sure how much boost is being put through the system but its somewhere between 10 and 14 pund (my guess) because its not hitting fuel cut, and it goes a little too hard to be only running 7 pound.

turbo is a little laggier than i expected - the gate opens up at about 4300 (and the screamer is VERY loud), but when its on boost its a great amount of fun - more or less, im not fussed by the turbo lag, its to be expected with a big turbo upgrade

couldnt be happier at the moment.

    here's a few snaps...

BTW what was the issue with the oil line leak? How did you fix it?

Would this suit the return line? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/STAINLESS-STE...QQcmdZViewItem

    or too small?

What size is the oil inlet flange?

    cheers for the comments everyone

Chris, im not 100% sure what was causing the oil leak (because i wasnt down at the shop at the time) but i think it was because we hadnt tightened up the speedflow fittings on the ends of the braid, so once that was done it was all good.

as for that oil return piece, what size is it? i used a 19mm off a nissan turbo - anyway, that loo0ks like the flange will mate up with the TR44 but you might have to modify the angle of the fittng so it doesnt hit the manifold you are using. mone was a VERY tight squeeze thats for sure.

Hmm, I think the easiest way for me will be to see if I can use the current flange and modify it to the TR44 if need be as I know that it fits my current braided return line.

I don't think I will have clearance issues with the return as my manifold is a bit different to yours plus I will have about an extra 2" height wise from the t3-t4 adaptor. Turbo sticking out the bonnet

Did you use the front or rear oil feed?

What size cooler pipes are they? I was told the TR44 has a 2" compressor outlet. I currently have a 3" outlet and 3" piping all the way.

i used to rear oil feed...

yeah the TR44 has a 2inch compressor outlet so that cooler pipe is 2 inch then becomes 2.5inch about half way between the cooler inlet and the turbo outlet.

another Q: did you just disconnect the wastegate actuator and arm? Do you just leave it as is and the wastegate will not open? No need to weld it up?
