Default FS: 1980 Toyota Corona RT132 Liftback West Melbourne

Up for (very reluctant) sale is my little Corona.

It is an RT132 Liftback with the 18R-C/W50 manual/T series diff, twin piston front calipers, rear drums. Has perfect working air-con.

I bought this as a run around in May of this year. Rego runs out on the 17th of May. We bought a new Camry Sportivo for a family car so the decision has been made for me to use the old VX Commodore as my daily for a while *Cough*

The Corona is pretty darn good for its age, there is no rust in any of the car except the rear tail gate, seems that's how they came from the factory. It is all original, right down to the stainless wheel trims. Black interior is immaculate save for what looks like a coffee stain on the front passenger seat. I have added a CD player and replaced all four speakers. Nothing leaks out of it at all.

I picked it up near Geelong and by the time I made it back home to Wyndham Vale, the odometer had stopped counting. It has stayed this way. I average 350-400klm a week in it from the day I registered it till the end of September. So by that calculation I have done about 8000klm on top of the 86,999klm reading on the odometer for a grand total of approx 95,000klm. And it really does feel like that is the correct amount.

When I got it I changed the rear muffler, rear wheel cylinders, front lower control arm bushes, clutch master, thermostat, points, plugs, alternator, all the filters, engine, gearbox, diff oils, had the brake and clutch fluids flushed and just went all over it in general. Since then, I have changed the oil and filter twice.

I get about 400-450klm out of a tank around town and saw 500klm from a tank on a trip down the Great Ocean Road coming home from Warrnambool. I'd have no hesitation getting into this car and driving it around Australia.

So yeah, it's a great little original car, I'm glad I got to it before it was left to rot in the paddock that I picked it up from but it is time to move it on. It qualifies for club rego too!

I'm after $3200 WITH rego and RWC, I know it might need panhard rod bushes, front pads and possibly tyres, depends on how picky the guys doing the RWC are, I don't know anyone in that business so I usually just have to cop the bullshit they pick. Otherwise I'm happy to negotiate a price if you prefer to organise your own RWC.

    Please call me on o412 7o7 5i8

    Cheers Brad.

Some interesting features for a car that first came out in the 70's:
*Boot and fuel lid release next to the drivers seat, like a new Toyota!
    *Headlight warning buzzer
*Dimming interior light on a timer
    *Blue windows
    *Twin piston front brakes
Probably lot's of other things that we take for granted in this day and age but would have been really cool in 1980!

So yeah, make me an offer! Don't be shy or afraid of offending me, I want to sell it URGENTLY.

    Cheers Brad.

Bump, our little bundle of joy came a bit early. I really need to move this on as it isn't suitable for us now, please make me an offer, any offer. I don't want to fuck around with negotiations, I really don't have the time anymore!! Call or text/PM/reply here.

The second set of pics were taken the day I posted them on here! (11-10-12) Yes it is clean as, except for aforementioned rust in tailgate. And it is the most reliable car I have owned ;-)

Offers? Baby needs a safer car..... This will probably go on club rego soon, or you could save me the hassle, buy it and do it yourself. Or turn it into a race car? I NEED IT GONE ;-)
