This is a long shot. Wired up the haltech. Using the old tune (which ran). Now having cops. And wired into the factory fuel pump relay. Car starts. Idles for 15secidnds then turns off. If I give it any throttle it turns off.
Anyone have any ideas? I don’t think haltech support such an old ecu

Dale at Castle Hill Exhaust has history with 20v Toyota engines and is a Haltech guru. You won’t go wrong with him.

He can tune old Motec ECUs so I doubt an older Haltech would be a challenge.

Is your fuel pump running when the engine shuts off after 15 seconds?

I think he does by appointment. Give him a ring and book it in. Ph: (02) 9680 2777

    What model is your ecu?

If you do get it tuned make sure you ask him to set up the vvt switch over point (assuming you have stock cams?)- consensus is that the vvt should be switched back off at higher rpm for maximum power. Pretty easy to check on the Dyno - run with vvt on and vvt off and look for the crossover point in the power curves.

I’d be interested to know what rpm works for you - silver top or blacktop? Any mods on your engine?

It’s a e8. I’ve wired the vvt. They say to then it in around 2ish then off at 6ish. It’s a stock st with 1nz cops and a ra10 for the reluctor signal
