    Default 1JZ JZZ30 Non vvti ECU 01/94 - 08/96 URGENT HELP PLEASE

    Hey Everyone!

    I brought a car that recently had a engine conversion done, a 1JZ Jzz30.

The person before had done the wiring and we are going through it as I don't want the car I just want the engine, but first I want it to run properly before pulling it out of this car.

He had the wiring a bit different from what I have read.

On plug c86 he had BATT & IGSW hook up to the ignition switch. And +B was hooked up to M-REL on plug C85
I've changed it to +B & IGSW to ignition switch, And BATT to full time power
According to every thing l have read there is meant to be a +B1 wire on plug C86, but its not there
I put the M-REL on plug C85 back to standard

I'm just wondering when he hooked up to the other plug is he shorted something?

Have a look at the following page,

It details how each of the pins you talk about (BATT, M-REL, +B, +B1, etc) should be wired!

It doesn't sound correct currently. Also if you use a multimeter, you will find that +B and +B1 are joined inside the ECU... Two pins were used by Toyota to allow more current . It will most likely work with only 1 pin, but it isn't how it was designed....

Wilbo is right, just using one of the B+ wires works fine, in fact JZX90 and JZX100 only have one connected from factory.

Wilbo's guide is amazing and has helped many over the years but a quick run-down:

JZZ30 harnesses are "standalone" as in they are complete and dont rely on the car's body harness really at all.
Plug CF1, Pin 11. ignition power
plug CF2, pin 3 & 7, ignition power (will draw a fair few amps)
Plug CA1, pin 1 starter trigger, pin 3 B+ supply FROM main efi relay (relay to source power from battery power)
Plug CA2, pin 4 battery power, pin 8 main efi trigger (positive)

that's all you need to make it run.

if it stalls in neutral, connect CA2 pin 3 to the starter wire OR
CF2, pin 6 this is starter trigger input, CA2 then becomes the starter trigger for the relay.

    hope this helps.
