as far as I know they are incompatible
Hi,
Hope you are doing well. I have a question regarding the R150 into a 2jzgte.
I am building a drift 240sx in Lebanon. I have been searching around for an R154 and its very rare in our country. I thought I found one and I bought it but it turned out to be an R150. I only knew it was an R150 after i got an R154 shifter and it didn't bolt on so I looked it up and it turned out to be an R150. The whole gearbox looks the same except for the shifter.
I am using a 1jz bell housing which bolted on the R150 and a R154 ACT HD clutch which also bolted fine. I also made a shifter relocation at the machining shop. The mechanic put the gearbox and engine together and its on the car now.
The input shaft turned out to be of different length.
My question here is to know if its possible to use the r154 input shaft on the R150 as I know someone who has a broken R154 and I can it from them.
This way I can use the R150 on my 2jzgte.
Thanks,
Wael

Jealousy is a curse
Madmont is correct. The counter ratio is different on the r154 so the gears will not mesh. You need an r150 input shaft to maintain the correct ratio but it can be done.
There is no substitute for PUBIC inches
Never late in an x8
there are some later model v6 hiluxes (06 onwards) that have an r150 with the correct length input shaft.
