    Default 1ggze to 1ggte

Hey guys i had a 1GGZE in the shed and decided i would use it for a build and it snowballed into a complete build. I am going to remove the supercharger and turbo it with a GTX3582 on a HKS manifold 38MM waste gate and huge inter cooler but im worried about supporting mods. Spark and fuel. Its a custom so the fuel system will be up to scratch but i haven't tackled injectors yet. Also it has the ZE ignition packs not a dizzy so should i upgrade the packs to another style ? I know there are some guys on here who have done great things with these motors and while yes i know a 2J would be easier ive come to far to go back now. Any assistance would be great thanks all.

Cant really answer your spark question.
Decent sized turbo for a 2L though, what car, diff, transmission you using?

Just curious, as I've been playing around with mine for 15 odd years, theres not many people still using them, I'm only one of a very few lol.

We ran a 1GGZE with a turbo on it in a celica race car for years.
That was the first race car I drove.

The GZE is better in the pistions etc than the turbo ones.

We ran the single coil and dist on ours,
but I would imagine coil packs are better,
although I would use mitsi wasted spark coil packs over the toyota ones.

Cant remember what we ran for injectors,
but were probably standard GZE ones and were maxed out at 100% at 20psi.

Unsure of the hp it made as it was way before dyno's were common.

Ive got it in a shortened single cab hilux. so its a single cab with a space cab tub with the chassis shortened to suit. Its got a W58 gearbox, hilux diff, 4link with coil rear and coils up front. Hypo any advice on any supporting mod would be much appreciated i know only afew guys bother running the 1G platform these days but being its a 89 hilux the engine suits the year nicely.

We were running ours on an ancient Link EMX
7MGTE injectors should be good for about 440Hp on a 6cyl,
    so probably a good choice.

Well if the standard ignition system from the 1GGZE holds up then i guess im sweet to start boosting.

I'm running 7mgte injectors, with a falcon coil pack, and an old microtech MTX8 comp making around 350hp at the tyres, or was through a W58. (gone auto now)

I have done a basic rebuild though, as in the early days i went through a few head gaskets and pistons, very dubious on the tuner at times capabilities though.
