Started working on my TA23 again.

Looking to draw on advice or tips.

Starting by sanding some rust bubbles on along the roof line above c pillar and above doors.

Like most of these things what seems like an easy fix just keeps getting worse the further you dig.

Not quite sure how the rust starts but I've found that in the gutter the roof skin is spot welded to the channel. The roof skin in the channel is rusted through in spots but the underlying gutter is only surface rust.

Pretty common place for these to rust but just wondering how it starts so I can fix properly. My guess is it starts in the channel and moves up the roof skin.

I've cut out rusted section parts and taken the roof skin off from down into the channel.

I'm planning on patching in some metal and spot welding it back into the channel. I'll only do the sections where there is rust.

Weld thru primer between the gutter and the roof skin patch where I will spot weld.

Anyone else done anything similar and have any tips?
